Monday, 12th June 2006

The awards ceremony for the annual Northern Ireland Tourism Awards was held last week in Belfast and three sites in the county were among the winners. The Belle Isle School of Cookery in Lisbellaw took first place in the Marketing Excellence category; the National Trust Crom Holiday Cottages in Newtownbutler was named as the Hostel/Self-Catering Establishment of the Year; and Marble Arch Caves European Geopark took the title of Visitor Attraction of the Year against stiff opposition including the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. There were more than one hundred entries to the awards.
