Bravery awards for two Fermanagh menBravery awards for two Fermanagh men
Monday, 20th March 2006

Two men who rescued a man from Lough Erne last November have been presented with bravery awards at a ceremony in Enniskillen Police Station. Tommy McLaughliin, who is community relations officer with the District Council, and management consultant Jason Donaghy entered the waters of the lough beside Ardhowen Theatre where they were attending a conference. A man had been spotted in the water and they jumped in to effect a successful rescue. At the same ceremony Constable Olive Fawcett received the President's Commendation from the Association of Chief Police Officers for her work in the organisation of the G8 Summit in Gleneagles.
