All-Ireland medal for Roslea youngster Monday, 6th March 2006
Conor Connolly, who had a successful track record in recitation at Lisnaskea Feis, was an obvious choice when Jimmy Callaghan from Roslea visited St Tierney's Primary School in search of potential contestants for the Pioneer competitions. The eleven-year-old was representing Roslea PTAA Centre when he won his All-Ireland medal, in a category in which the upper age limit was sixteen years; his winning piece was "The Belleek One" by Declan Forde. Conor, from Tattymore, is the son of Hugh and Ann Connolly and his two sisters are also well known for their recitation skills.
