Classes to attract people to the honey potClasses to attract people to the honey pot
Monday, 6th February 2006

The Fermanagh Beekeepers' Association is establishing beekeeping classes at the Agricultural College in Enniskillen in order to attract more members to the association, which is now in existence for more than forty years. According to chairman Andrew Elliott the association has between thirty and forty members in the county, though this is approximately half the number of beekeepers. A number of the members have taken examinations in the craft and some years ago Ethel Irvine won the Bobby Burns trophy for achieving the highest overall mark in both the practical and scientific papers.
