Three Fermanagh men head for the topThree Fermanagh men head for the top
Monday, 16th May 2005

Three men from Fermanagh are to mount an expedition in the spring of 2006 to reach the peak of the world's highest summit, Mount Everest. Neal Elliott from Ballinamallard, dairy farmer Raymond Hassard from Church Hill and Fergal Corrigan, a publican from Trillick, will fly to Tibet where they will link up with Sherpa guides for the attempt. They will approach the summit along the north ridge and one of their goals is to plant a Duke of Edinburgh Award flag on the summit to mark that body's fiftieth anniversary. From now until next April the three men will be undertaking a number of fundraising events to finance the expedition.
