Mullanaskea boy on the road to recoveryMullanaskea boy on the road to recovery
Monday, 9th May 2005

The five-year-old boy accidentally shot while playing in the schoolyard of St Patrick's Primary School in Mullanaskea is well on the mend this week. Darragh Sommers is listed in serious but stable condition in Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast following the incident at the end of last month. The young boy is conscious and has been asking for updates to his favourite television shows. Area residents meanwhile have rallied to dispel concerns from Sommers' fellow pupils, and much appreciation is being directed to Hannah McCusker, the acting school principal. Gardai meanwhile are continuing to search for the gunman.
