Business CentreBusiness Centre's expansion to create 40 new jobs
Thursday, 4th November 2004

Up to 40 new jobs will be created in Co Fermanagh as the result of an expansion of the Lisnaskea Business Centre, it was announced today.

The centre currently consists of 19,000 sq ft of workspace, providing accommodation for 16 businesses which provide 61 jobs.

The new job opportunities will come with the construction of a further 5,000 sq ft of workspace and five serviced sites, funded by the International Fund for Ireland, Invest NI and Lisnaskea Community Enterprises.

A further four services sites and access roads are being paid for by Fermanagh District Council and the Department of Enterprise , Trade and Investment.

In total the expansion represents an investment of £784,000.

Speaking at the official opening of the development scheme, International Fund board member, Jackie Hewitt, said: "Lisnaskea Community Enterprises is to be congratulated on its efforts over the years to promote entrepreneurship and to develop a thriving, competitive and innovative small business sector."

He said the extra, much-needed work space provided the perfect solution for new businesses that want to set up in the area and for existing businesses wishing to expand.

Since first opening in 1996 the centre had enjoyed almost 100% occupancy and a number of the original tenants have expanded, outgrown the facilities and moved on to larger or purpose built units fulfilling the spirit and objectives of Lisnaskea Community Enterprises, said chairman Bernard Gilligan.
