Ireland Well Beaten by Argentina
Sunday, 30th September 2007

At last, the Irish rugby team has been put out of it's misery, losing their second game of the group, and with it, say goodbye to World Cup 2007.

Ireland eventually lost 30-15 to a well drilled Pumas side and unfortunately never mustered enough momentum to really threaten the group winners.

Poor kicking and basic errors again were Ireland's downfall, and to be honest, it's as well they have been put out of their misery.

Argentina for their part, now have a relatively easy quarter-final match against Scotland in Paris next week, with France, runners up in the group, playing the All Blacks in Cardiff. Ironically there will be thousands of Irish supporters at that match, many having expected Ireland to have made it this far.

Best of luck to Argentina, they deserve our best wishes for the rest of the tournament !
